Brayden Shockley Obituary

Brayden Patrick Shockley, 30, of Merkel Texas, passed away on February 20, 2024, in Abilene Texas.

Brayden was born in Abilene Texas to David Shockley and Debbie Williams-Ingram on January 24th, 1994. He grew up in Merkel and graduated from Merkel High School in 2012. He married Cassi Shockley on September 29th, 2018, in Merkel Texas. He worked as a service advisor for Caliber Collison.

Brayden was a motorcycle enthusiast, volunteer fireman, a darn good cook, a family man, and a guy who bounced back from more of life’s nonsense than anyone should be exposed to. He leaves behind a wife and children that he loved immensely as well as his parents, his friends that he called family and his extended family from miles near and far. Brayden’s family, friends and community have been made less by his loss.

Brayden was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Pat and Linda Williams of Merkel Texas, Paternal grandfather Mike Shockley of Big Spring Texas, and stepfather Lee Ingram of Clyde Texas.

Brayden is survived by his wife Cassi and their 3 children Grayson (6), Sadie (4), and Dawsyn (1). Sister Lacey Brown (Cody) of Ovalo Texas, Sister Jerika Jones (David) of Abilene Texas. Brother Stephen Ingram (Janete) of Clyde Texas. Step-sisters Jami Ingram of West Texas and Trisha Ingram of Brownwood Texas.  Parents David Shockley of Merkel Texas, Debbie Williams-Ingram of Clyde Texas. In-laws Lynette and Corey Fay of Hawley, Uncle Billy Williams (Toni) of Merkel Texas, Uncle Aaron Shockley of Big Spring Texas, Grandmother Bobbie Beall of Big Spring Texas, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Taylor Insall of Merkel, Kolton Griffith of Merkel, Tristan Allen of Merkel, David Casper of Merkel, Stephen Ingram of Clyde, David Jones of Abilene, and honorary pallbearer Brandon Galle of Merkel.

Visitation will be from 5pm-7pm on Sunday, February 25th 2024 at Starbuck Funeral Home in Merkel Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Monday February 26th 2024 at the Merkel Church of Christ with Jay Don Poindexter formerly of Merkel, officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Merkel Texas.
