Julia Ruth Baker, 82, passed away on March 11, 2024 in Abilene, TX.
Julia was born on April 17, 1941 to John Baker and Rowena Baker McIlroy in Bisbee, AZ. She graduated from Eula High School in 1959. She was an X-Ray tech at Ft. Worth Osteopathic Hospital until she retired. Julia volunteered her time with the Monarch Butterfly Migration, raising Monarch butterflies and plants for them. She loved the outdoors, photography, hunting, and fishing. She was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys.
Julia is preceded in death by both of her parents.
She is survived by her brother and his wife, C.A. and Janie McIlroy of Dudley, Texas; niece and husband, Shannon and Michael Wester of Arlington, Texas; great nieces: Alexandria Wester of Kansas City, Kansas and Airmen Aliana and Jermiah of Cannon Airforce Base, Clovis, New Mexico; one aunt, Neil Caffey of Abilene, Texas.
Graveside services will be held at Truby Cemetery on March 14, 2024 at 10:00 a.m.
